Faculty Disclosures for Chairs, Presenters, and Planners

As a provider of CME accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the American Thoracic Society (ATS) is sponsoring this CME activity and takes responsibility for its content, quality, and scientific integrity. All ATS CME activities must meet the standards set by the ACCME and by the American Medical Association for activities awarding AMA PRAward Category 1 credit™.

In accordance with these standards, the ATS Policy on Management of Conflict of Interest in Official ATS Documents, Projects and Conferences and the ATS Policy Governing Relationships Between the Tobacco Industry, ATS Members, and Non-Members Who Participate in ATS Activities, chairs, moderators, presenters and planners at the International Conference are asked to disclose relationships with commercial, tobacco and non-commercial entities in relation to their presentations.  Conference presenters are also asked to disclose if there will be any discussion in the presentation of "off-label" (unapproved) use of substances/products not approved in the United States for the use under discussion (as per the U.S. Food and Drug Administration Guidance for Industry: Industry-Supported Scientific and Educational Activities).

For the 2009 International Conference, the faculty disclosure information was requested and received by ATS in advance of the Conference, reviewed by appropriate ATS member reviewers, and session chairs and faculty were instructed to resolve any identified conflicts of interest (COI) according to ATS Procedure For Resolving Conflict Of Interest (COI) In International Conference CME.
