ATS Speakers List

Important Information -- Please Read Before Using Resource Lists: As a service to our assemblies and chapters, the ATS has compiled and will maintain here two "ATS Continuing Education Speakers Resource Lists", as resources to assist in the development of local continuing education activities. These include:

(1) A searchable resource list of speakers at the most recent ATS International Conference Speakers (i.e., symposium and daytime postgraduate course speakers -- for sake of database size, presentations at poster sessions, workshops, and evening postgraduate seminars aren't included), and their presentation topics. This rich resource includes more than 900 entries. This list will be replaced each spring with the list from the subsequent ATS International Conference.

(2) A second, searchable resource list of Other ATS Sponsored Speakers and their presentation topics during the previous calendar year. This rich resource includes more then 400 entries, including all presenters at CME activities within the past year, other than ATS International Conference, that were directly sponsored by ATS (such as the ATS State of the Art Course) or for which ATS served as CME joint sponsor (such as the more than 60 local CME activities of ATS chapters and other partners for which ATS served as joint sponsor). This list will be replaced each spring with the list from the previous calendar year's "other activities".

Please note the following conditions regarding these lists:

[A] Inclusion within these ATS Continuing Education Speakers Resource Lists is not an endorsement or recommendation by the ATS of the individual listed, in regard to his/her expertise or his/her effectiveness as a lecturer. Such determination is the responsibility of the Planning Committee for each continuing education activity.

[B] The ATS Continuing Education Speakers Resource Lists are not a "media spokesperson" speakers' bureau. Requests for designated ATS media spokespeople should instead be directed to Brian Kell, ATS Director of Communications and Marketing, at bkell@thoracic.org or 212-315-6442.)

[C] These resource lists do not include contact information for the speakers listed. ATS members may obtain contact information for any listed speaker who also is an ATS member by using the ATS Membership Database section of the Members Only portion (password-protected) of the ATS Website. (ATS chapter administrators who do not have access to the ATS Members Only site can contact Allan Gordon, ATS Member Services Manager, at agordon@thoracic.org, or 212-315-8697, to gain access.) Most speakers on these speaker resource lists are ATS members. If you're unable to obtain contact information on a speaker because he/she isn't listed in the ATS Membership Database, and therefore presumably he/she isn't an ATS member, you may e-mail Eileen Larsson, Director, Education Products and Programs, elarsson@thoracic.org, for assistance.

[D] The "ATS Continuing Education Speakers Bureau" sign-up opportunity that was offered here from 2002 to 2004 has been dicontinued. The ATS Education Committee concluded that it was preferable and more successful to have ATS continuing education speakers identified through the established program (planning) committee process.

Other information regarding ATS continuing education activities is available here on the ATS Website. If more information or assistance is needed specific to the annual ATS International Conference, please consult the International Conference section of the ATS website, or call the ATS International Conference Unit at 212-315-8658. If more information or assistance is needed regarding ATS continuing education other than the International Conference, please consult the Education section of the ATS website, or contact the ATS Education Programs Unit via Eileen Larsson, Director, Education Products and Programs, at elarsson@thoracic.org or 212-315-8609. In Eileen's absence, please contact Rachel Makleff, Ph.D, Director, Tactical Management and CME Development at rmakleff@thoracic.org, 212-315-8644, or Barbara Horner, Manager, Education Databases and Projects at bhorner@thoracic.org, 212-315-8693.
