COURSE DESCRIPTION - SOTA: Pulmonary and Critical Care
This course provides a comprehensive update on the clinical management of pulmonary and critical care disorders.
This 3 ½ day program includes up to 30 lectures delivered by a faculty of 30 experienced academic clinicians and 7 ‘Meet the Professor’ Sessions. Lectures provide a current perspective on topics of practical importance to practitioners. ‘Meet the Professor’ sessions facilitate informal exchange with the speakers on additional topics of interest; these are case-based, “hands-on” seminars.
COURSE DESCRIPTION – SOTA: Sleep
NEW: For the first time, two SOTA courses will be given at the same time and will allow participants to go to outstanding pulmonary, critical care and sleep lectures.
The Sleep State–of-the-Art course will be a cutting edge review of all aspects of sleep disorders including sleep apnea (new diagnostic and treatment strategies, cardiovascular consequences, complex sleep apnea, home sleep studies, economics, effects of bariatric surgery), consequences of sleep deprivation including immune function, narcolepsy, insomnia, parasomnias, restless leg syndrome and pediatric sleep disorders. There will be didactic lectures from a stellar group of faculty, PSG review sessions and case presentations
TARGET AUDIENCE - SOTA: Pulmonary and Critical Care
This course is designed for practicing physicians involved in the management of respiratory disease and critical care disorders.
Advanced Practice Nurses and Physician Assistants are also welcome. However, this course is not designed specifically for allied health professionals.
TARGET AUDIENCE – SOTA: Sleep
This course is designed for pulmonologists (adult and pediatric), pulmonary and sleep fellows, neurologists, psychiatrics, internists, nurses and sleep technicians.

The course will take place from Thursday, February 25th to Sunday, February 28th, 2010, at The Hilton Miami Airport in Miami, Florida. The course will include up to 30 lectures and a choice of 7 Meet the Professor Sessions. The ATS group rate for single room is $140. A deposit equal to one night’s stay is required to hold each individual’s reservation. Should you need to cancel your registration, you must contact Barbara Horner at the ATS Education Programs Unit, in writing (see address below). If received on or before Friday, January 22, 2010, you will receive a refund of your registration fee, less a $100.00 administration fee. No refunds will be made after January 22nd, but registrants unable to attend will receive the course syllabus. Hotel reservations and cancellations are the registrant's responsibility and concerns should be addressed directly with the hotel.
